Ultrasonic Mesh Parking Sensor
Wireless Detection at a fraction of the cost of optical/AI solutions.
Deploy bay occupancy detection across 1 to 2,000 spaces with no Ethernet, no PoE, and no data cabling.
Built on a self-healing DigiMesh 3 wireless network, Ultrasonic Mesh delivers reliable ultrasonic bay detection using only a simple 24V DC power feed.
Ultrasonic Mesh provides a simple and cost-effective parking guidance solution for operators who do not require the computing power or infrastructure associated with AI camera systems
Lower cost. Faster installation. Scalable by design.
What Is Ultrasonic Mesh?
Ultrasonic Mesh is Highlight Parking Systems’ standalone ultrasonic bay occupancy sensor, designed for rapid deployment across multi-storey car parks, surface parking, EV charging areas and retrofit upgrades.
Unlike traditional ultrasonic systems that require expensive network cabling, Ultrasonic Mesh uses peer-to-peer wireless mesh communication, dramatically reducing installation time and infrastructure costs.
Each sensor communicates wirelessly with neighbouring nodes, creating a resilient, self-healing network capable of supporting up to 2,000 bays.
Result: Faster parking, reduced emissions, and a stress-free experience.
Key Benefits
True Wireless Mesh Networking
Self-healing DigiMesh 3 protocol enables node-to-node communication across 2–2,000 sensors.
Minimal Infrastructure Required
Only 24V DC power required. No Ethernet. No PoE. No data cabling.
Reduced Installation Costs
Reduce cabling infrastructure by up to 90% compared to traditional wired ultrasonic systems.
Reliable Occupancy Detection
Ultrasonic distance measurement suitable for 2m–3.5m mounting heights.
Fast Surface-Mount Installation
Designed for quick mounting onto cable tray systems suspended from ceilings.
Secure & Enterprise-Ready
Built with aligned cybersecurity and encrypted communication.
How Ultrasonic Mesh Works
1. Each sensor detects vehicle presence using ultrasonic height measurement.
2. Sensors communicate wirelessly via DigiMesh 3 peer-to-peer networking.
3. Data is transmitted to the Highlight gateway.
4. Live occupancy data feeds into:
• Highlight Analytics Dashboard
• Smart VMS signage
• Third-party systems via API
The result: real-time occupancy visibility with minimal infrastructure overhead.
Ideal Applications
- Multi-storey car parks (MSCPs)
- Retail and supermarket car parks
- Residential car parks
- EV charging zones
- Temporary or modular parking sites
- Industrial and logistics bays
- Retrofit upgrades of outdated wired ultrasonic systems
Ultrasonic Mesh is particularly suited for environments where pulling network cables is costly, disruptive or impractical.
Why Choose Ultrasonic Mesh Over Traditional Ultrasonic Systems?
The difference is stark. Traditional wired ultrasonic sensors demand extensive cabling infrastructure, specialist installation teams and long lead times. Ultrasonic Mesh was purpose-built to eliminate these barriers, making scalable bay detection accessible, affordable and fast to deploy.
Testimonials
"We have worked with Highlight for a number of years and installed their systems in all our multi-storey car parks that we operate on behalf of Heathrow Airport. Their products are innovative, very reliable, highly accurate and are aesthetically pleasing. Furthermore, they offer first class support and maintenance. We are very happy with the all round services they provide."
Lee Goodes, UK Area Manager, APCOA Parking
"Highlight Parking were able to upgrade our car park counting system which was not operating correctly. Their team designed and installed a bespoke system to work with our existing display signs and monitored and honed the counts until they were accurate. We are extremely pleased with the system and will be using Highlight to expand the counting onto other areas of our estate in the near future."
Robert Cox, Senior Operations Manager, UWE Bristol
“The S.A.F.E. system was a guaranteed investment for us. We did of course have a fire alarm system in the car park but, S.A.F.E. provides a far quicker response; we timed it at between seven and eight seconds compared to 12 minutes for our existing system.”
Richard Carney, Project Manager, Severn Trent
“Highlight is a very pro-active and innovative company, who have refined both their back office control package to include bespoke requirements from ourselves on several occasions, as well as software updates to the main systems."
John Buckmaster, Director Office Services, Fluor Ltd
"We were so impressed with the original system in our MSCP "A" with the ease of parking for customers and the extra income it generated through higher occupancy levels, that we had no hesitation in ordering it for our new MSCP “B”."
